Let's be real. Whether it's rape or its murder, it's still occurring in a fictional medium that isn't injuring or hurting anyone irl. It's not real. I think it's because the readers don't have the attachment nor any care and thought of what the victims or side characters are feeling because their story ends right there, while a pedo/rapist would let their victims live and we sometimes see how pitiful they are and (kinda) understand how they feel so readers get attached.
