I'm really not sure, but maybe it's the fact you can see them grow up?? I personally don't want a child because the world is a shitty place, I'm not mentally stable enough, everything is fucking expensive, and the world is quite literally dying.
Other than that, maybe people just like children?? I also can't wrap my head around it
