Ya'll I'm sorry but I have a serious question here
TW; Might have some sensitive topics in here for some people, be wary.
This might be a super dumb completely embarrassing question but my thing is, if someone, for example, writes a story about drug use and addiction, would it be offensive if that person has never been addicted before? Like, they're writing a story about someone who struggles with it, and the story of how they get better etc. Would it not be their place to write about something like that? I'm sorry if this offends anyone or makes anyone upset, yeah it's super random and everything but I kinda need to know this.
Just say what you think, state your opinion. Thanks. Also sorry if I didn't explain it very well.
As long as it's properly represented, I personally would be fine with it cause it not only can show you the true sides of living with that struggle, but also could inform others on it.
