WHAT TF IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD

OK so a cousin of mine just vented to me and she started crying. She lives in South Korea. And the things she told me just blew my mind and made me boil in anger. She's Indian with very dark skin tone, and the bullying she's faced because of it brakes my heart.

She said girls in her school bullied her because of her skin colour saying things like "you don't bath that's why you look like this", teachers would ignore her if she asked questions in class, they basically shame her because she's Indian. Whenever she speaks up about the stereotypical portrayal of south Asian and black people, they always ignore her. One time she literally went into a pharmacy and they wouldn't give her medicine saying it was out of stock but they instantly have the same one to a Korean.

I know about the toxic beauty standards in SK, and heck even Indians favour white skin with their "fair and lovely" crap, but I've never seen someone actually go this far. (bullying culture isn't really a thing here, and students don't have time for that shit, because we have to worry about not getting jobs and college entrance exams from literally 4-5th grade)

I was shocked because I didn't know they were this racist. I have many Chinese friends and I even visited them a few times. I never felt excluded, and I can actually see similarities between cultures, especially family and parents, because damn I understand all my Chinese friends' pain of their parents pressuring them to do good in academics and beating them. (Asian mom are scary and I can confirm this because I have one). I thought east Asians were accepting, but ya i guess racist people are everywhere.

I've been thinking about this for a whole day I'm just very upset and worried about my friend. The worst thing is that she told me I was lucky because my skin was white (I'm Indian but I have very pale skin, so people mistake me for a foreigner sometimes)

Why do people hate others because of their skin or origin, why does the way a person looks matter so much. Why were east and south east Asians getting hate and were assaulted in the US. Why are innocent black people shamed. What does it take for everyone to respect each others culture and origins...I'm just sick of people at this point.
