I agree with the mentality that "it's just fiction" when it comes to violent video games or movies where a lot of people were claiming that their kids would get influenced by the violence they consumed and turn into serial killers just because they played Fortnite. porn messes with your head and I think dark elements do influence you and CAN mess you up from little to more extremes. i think there's 'some' influence fiction has on reality. mainly normalizing things. not necessarily that someone will go out to commit crimes. normalizing that factor of disgust, fear, etc will likely affect how one reacts to the real thing.   reply
