My parents never taught me about sex Ed too: if I ask them where I came from the reply I always get is “I pick you up from the side of the road from the garbage can.”   reply

My parents never taught me any of that either. Even when I got my first period, my mom just threw some pads at me and called it a day. Kinda sad, but otherwise just like you I learned it all on my own through google or social media   reply

yea i mean my parents never did either, i had internet access from a young age and kinda just figured it out myself. I'd say its normal enough, although its definitely better for people ot teach their kids about this stuff in general, just incase they don't learn it themselves.   reply

I cannot say it's abnormal since a lot of parents neglect their children's sex ed, but I can only say that this is wrong. Teach your children how babies are made. Tell them the truth in a way that's appropriate for their ages. And most of all... Teach them about contraception, dammit. o.o You are asking for your child to have a baby at 13/14 if yo......   reply

My mother was and still is straight forward when it comes to sex Ed and other bodily functions since she is a nurse. Since I was young my mother always told me stories about her patients and what she sees/does everyday. When it came to sex Ed she basically told me everything about it and how it’s an equal job from both the male and female. As wel......   reply

My parents answered any questions accurately from my earliest memory without going into anything too disturbing when I was young. Both my mom and dad were good with it all, even answering gay sex questions without getting weird. Tbh I think my folks are different to most parents, idk many friends whose parents were as casual as mine.   1 reply

my parents taught me about it when I was really young (most of it was answered by my mom though). They don’t really sugarcoat it and just straight up told me how babies were made. Ofc they don’t explain the SPECIFIC details on how they’re made lol. And in my school they teach about sex Ed around 4th grade so yeah   reply

In my case, my mom was always really open to talk and explain without making a big deal about it. Since I was little, she explained what she thought was appropiate, but never sugarcoating. I also know she talked to my brother, making an emphasis on the wrongs of the porn industry. So, yes. BUT I also think it depends a lot on your family's history......   reply
