unless its official art, then yea adjusting it is disrespectful to the artist. but if the artist intentionally whitewashed a character then thats a different story   reply

Idk, if you're gonna fix someone's fanart or art then that's just plain disrespectful and also quite harmful for the artist. Also "fix" shouldn't even exist in art because you aren't fixing anything, you're just "fixing" it to suit your *definition of that character*.   reply

I’ve seen multiple things on twitter but 1 story I read related to “fixing” someone’s art particularly stood out to me. Someone did a self portrait in their own art style and posted it on twitter. Someone else then “fixed” it by making the person ‘overweight’/changing some features and then said that they 1. “Fixed” the art and ......   1 reply

Draw your own version of their art from scratch and prove that you can make a better picture. Otherwise keep your hands off their work.   reply

unless the artist is accepting criticism i don't really think it's necessary to "fix" ppl's art ! unless ur assisting them help and improve, no, i don't rlly think it would be respectful or helpful to the artist themselves ! slightly moderating things in ppl's artwork like skin tone or body size could still rlly be disrespectful, bc that makes it ......   reply

If your intent/ wording is you saying that you’re “fixing it” than no, but otherwise if you’re being respectful, I personally don’t see a problem. I really don’t think anyone should touch fan-art it (racist or otherwise) but if it’s official art, it really doesn’t matter. Like if you’re taking a clip from an anime/ American cartoo......   reply

Don't touch people's fanart at all unless you have permission from the artist period. If you don't get a response, you should ASSUME YOU AREN'T ALLOWED unless you get one or the artist has a statement allowing it. This is especially true for east asian artists because it's deemed common sense not to share (and therefore steal) other people's art. ......   reply

Nobody should "fix" other people art. It's a lack of respect toward the artist. If you don't like something you can ether draw it better or leave it but you shouldn't steal someone art and change it to your taste. Moreover in most situation people who fix art do it for their own little sense of justice, like"where are her organ ? She is too slim" a......   reply
