I think you like someone if you treasure the time spent together with them. When you want to be with them and can't imagine your life without them. Sometimes it's difficult to distinguish friendship from romantic feelings, but friendship is nevertheless a step before becoming romantically involved with somebody imo. I think that love, in some ways, is quite close to a feeling of friendship. Awww same but for me I kinda have the idea that I like them when I get the urge to spoil them, cuddle them, support them and I do some of these platonically to some of my friends but those urges just come out a lot more w that person. I don't know if this is just me but when I started to like my (now trying to get over) crush, I became a lot more sensitive to my emotions.
