is anyone else super insecure around ur parents?
I'm really insecure to show my moms the things I like. I'll always take the show I'm watching off when she's around and I never play any of my music around her. I really am trying to change this but it's really hard and uncomfortable to me. I just want her to respect the stuff I like and not make fun of it.
Like bro one time, I showed her a Mitski song I liked, and she literally made fun of the album cover, rolling her eyes that it says "puberty" on it and said something by the lines "sometimes I have to remember that you're 15"
I really just wanna get over this. Can anyone help? ffs she quit her job and now she's home all the time

My best advice to you is to talk to her about it. Tell her what her saying that and doing those things made you feel and how now you don't feel comfortable with showing her the things you like. Especially if youll see a lot of each other from now on, communicating with her will be important. Best of luck:)
