0. INTRODUCTION

0.1 Welcome
→ Welcome to the Mangago account restriction guide. Here, I will guide you through the Mangago account restriction process!

So, recently, I got restricted (L). After getting restricted, I was panicking on what to do and what not to do.

0.2 Why I made this guide
→ Unfortunately, Mangago has no guide on what to do if you get restricted. So, I thought why don't I do it myself? (You can find user made ones like mine, too)

1. I'M RESTRICTED?

1.1 how to check if you're restricted or not
→ To check if you're restricted or not, you can try 3 methods. (Easiest ways to check are these three)

First:

Try asking an question. After asking the question, refresh the page, and if you can't see your question, you are *maybe restricted. (*It can be a internet problem too, so go and re-connect to your internet connection).

Second:

This is the best way to check if you're restricted or not. Ask a friend or you can also log out to visit your homepage, and if the above image appears to them, you're restricted, oops. (This one can be a Mangago glitch sometimes, but it's very rare)

Third:

When you will enter a Manga into your reading list, and if it saves the Manga automatically under the [] only visible for myself no matter how many times you refresh the page, congratulations, it's confirmed you have been restricted.

1.2 reasons as to why you're restricted?

Ask a question
1. Posting non-manga related questions and/or topics could result in your account being restricted.
2. Posting discussion about a specific manga here will be considered as spam, please go to the specific manga page to share.
3. Once restricted, your account cannot interact with other users, will not get any notifications, and your posts will only be visible to you.

The reason why I got restricted was because I asked a question about how is everyone

Anyway, more reasons as to why you were restricted.

- a group of people or someone with multiple alts over than the age of 1 month mass reported your account. the reason could be because you're a troll hated by lots of users, or someone is just your stalker.

- you posted a non-manga related questions and/or topics, or a non-manga link of some sort.

- you could have unknowingly or knowingly shared a non-manga related link somewhere on mangago. (Friend of mine got restricted because she shared a tiktok link)

1.3 nope, you aren't restricted.
→ If you can still post messages on someones' message board, send mail to someone, answer questions, answer topics, congratulations, you aren't restricted!

If all the things stated in "- 1.1 how to check if you're restricted or not" aren't working, phew, you aren't restricted, great going!

1.4 what happens when you get restricted
→ basically, these following points is what happens when you get restricted:-

➝ you can't interact with anyone. You can't send anyone mails, message on their message board, and reply to anyone's topics.
➝ all the things listed in "- 1.1 how to check if you're restricted or not".
➝ you are currently in Mangago quarantine LMAO


2. I KNOW I'M RESTRICTED, WHAT DO I DO NOW?

2.1 steps to take
→ The first thing you should do after knowing you are indeed restricted go cry about it, and come back.

Now, what you should do is email [email protected] using the email which you are using for your restricted account. Some people say message the official Mangago account, but don't. They won't even be able to see the message since it will disappear soon because you are restricted. (You can't post messages on anyone's message board, even if it's Mangagos' homepage).

The trick is to be courteous, kind, add many smile faces in your email, and spam their email. It took me 3-4 days to get unrestricted. I spammed their email 9 times and they soon sent me this email.

Mangago checks their email fast these days, so just respectfully spam them :)


2.2 what to do in the meantime
→ Now that you're restricted I advise to not use your account for reading. You can add pictures in your albums, and update your bio though. Read on another site in the meantime.

2.3 worried about my reading list
→ You don't need to be worried about your reading list if you don't read on here in the meantime. Nothing will happen to your reading while you're restricted, don't worry.

3. AFTERMATH

3.1 i got unrestricted!!!
→ congratulations, you have now joined the cool kids now that you are back from being restricted. Claim your "back from restriction" ticket here.

Now, you might notice something different if you read with your restricted account, and added things to your reading list. I did that and I regret it.

This is what you guys see on my reading list:

Objective: go click on the only visible to myself box on every work you read with your restricted account, and added to your reading list. Fly high, fingers.

One more thing, if you see the, "this reply will be shown after approved" on any post of yours, you are shadowbanned, or still restricted. Like this post

(they are unrestricted, though)

3.2 did the steps but can't get my account unrestricted
→ uh oh, you're at the worst case scenario. Before deciding you can't get your account unrestricted, just know it took around 1 year for someone to get unrestricted. Some people are still restricted.

3.3 can't get my account unrestricted, what do I do now?
→ sorry to say this, but you'll need to shift to an alt. It will be hard to get used to a new account, but you will do great! You will be stuck with a not very usable account for one month but after one month, you will be able to do basic account abilities you weren't able to do previously.
