Difference between kink and fetish

What’s the difference?? How come you can’t fetishise something but you’re also not allowed to kink shame people?? I’m so confused I thought they were synonyms.

Fetish is a sexual fixation on a certain object or act that is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to achieve gratification/ satisfaction. i think kink and fetish are pretty similar, but "fetishize" means something a bit different. fetishizing is to make something the object of a fetish, but now it has more of a negative connotation. like how you would say "foot fetish" instead of "fetishizing feet", but you would NOT say "race fetish" instead of "fetishizing race". it's because ...... reply
