I can't
I can't listen to music while reading manga. I just got too absorbed by the music, and end interpreting the story the way the song makes me feel. And that's terrible because I don't get the feel the author wanted me to experiment with the manga ahhaahhaa.
I remember listening to some Annihilator's songs while reading One Piece. I found myself reading it way more serious that it was ahahhaa. Oh god.
Sometimes I play Corelli's "La Follia", a classical music piece. Well, usually it goes well with some deep stories.
AH BUT I REMEMBER
One day I played Lord of the Lost's "See You Soon" while reading some sad yaoi... aaaaah, I almost cry ahahahha!

I can't say the same, I pretty much listen to music while reading manga all the time. But I can't really say it's music. It's more like *earrape* so uh yeah lol.
Have you tried doing different genres while reading manga?
I tend to read manga's that already have an anime with their soundtracks or just look up Anime [emotional/epic/or omit this] soundtracks to get me into the mood OR you can even try just certain movies/instrumental soundtracks. Sometimes the timing of the song/music part i'm listening and the scenes practically match that I get really into what I'm reading that it makes the experience better.
But everyone has diff styles so it might not be your thing ╮(⌒▽⌒)╭
