Dropping BL
A title you think you wouldn't see here on Mangago. But I'm thinking of seriously doing it. I mean if you check out my account you know that I read a shit ton of it. And it's been about a year or two since I dropped the fujo title cause.... cringe, we dont talk about it.
But I've been listening to a lot of mlm, and their personal feelings on it. And it really does get me feeling guilty, cuz they have some really good fucking points. And if anyone has a say on it, I think it's them. Because even though I'm an asexual panromantic, I'm not a man, I don't know what it feels like, and I don't personally go into gl because of the same complaints they have.
Which doesn't mean there aren't good ones out there, just means that... I'm starting to get some real guilt from it. And I think I'm going to drop it. I'll keep what's already read in my read list. And I'll finish all the stories that are in my reading. But after I finish this last list. I don't think I'm going to be reading anymore.
Anywho I guess this would be a good chance on asking what y'all feel about it? Do you guys like BL? Or yall dont support? And what about GL?
personally I think anyone can read whatever they want as long as they don't fetishize the relationship(s). I haven't really ventured into reading GL cuz I haven't actively searched for them, but any gender can appreciate BL/GL without having to feel guilty (as long as you don't fetishize) but those are just my thoughts

Would you feel guilty if the characters in the story were straight? No. So why not the same with homosexual relationships? They are the same as straight, a sexual orientation. If we want it to be more accepted in society, we shouldn't rule it out. Its kind of discriminatory because, since it's a normal thing, then why do you feel guilty about BL or......

I’m mlm and read BL sometimes...(but only if the storyline is interesting), and I honestly don’t care if a girl (or anyone of any other gender) wants to read BL.
My issue is if said girl starts SEXUALIZING mlm material or convincing herself that fictional BL relationships are like IRL mlm relationships.
Also to the girls who makes excuses fo......

I read BL and GL but mostly BL. I don't necessarily think people should be labeled as a "fetishizer" just because its a queer story with sex. I enjoy GL and BL stories because i'm queer (pan, specifically) and I appreciate the representation. Cishet romance stories can also be fetishized by anyone, its just that BL is the most prominent of those st......

Honestly OK in my point of view i think other people are just over thinking this. You can interpret this however way you want but I think people are overly exercising their entitlement. I have tons of friends in the LGBTQ+ community in fact my best friend is gay he's a man and he likes men. But you see our bonding actually consist of reading BL sto......

There are ALWAYS going to be some people who will have a problem with almost anything you do. Especially with social media people will hit the judgement hammer and aim it at you for anything.
For example, just yesterday I was shown a tickok of a larger sized woman totally belittling a man because he made a post in response to someone asking his p......

you can enjoy reading whatever you want. all works of fiction have problematic aspects in them. literature needs to be criticized in order to evolve and cater to everyone.
SLs until now still make women as weak/dumb creatures that need some saving from a man in order to keep the story going, female readers criticize this trope, because it's prob......
