First and foremost, it's really hard to come out to parents or adults who are "close-minded" in other words; they're stuck in their own beliefs and unable to accept new ideas especially if it contradicts their religion or belief. My advice would be to just tell them and explain to them that it has been just as rough for you to hold back on telling them as it might be for them to hear it but at least you are coming to terms with it and have already expected that things would not go smoothly at first.
