I never think of yaoi as a representation of the LGBT community, never in a million years although I love to read yaoi myself. Furthermore I think very few anime or manga can represent their genre in reality because most of them are just the mangaka's imagination about the world that he/she dreams of, not the real one they're living in. So how can a yaoi manga represent the LGBT community? The same goes for shoujo manga and other genres as well.

And the reason I love yaoi is it's one of the things helps me know about the existence of this kind of relationships between people with the same gender. I got to know about it early, so I understand, respect and support it before people around me telling me that it's weird and disgusting. I have an amazing gay friend who understand me more than any other. I followed a gay people's confession so I know they have to suffer a lot being gay, and just a few of them can end up being with the one they truly love and have their parents' acceptance. For me yaoi is what helps me overcome the sh*t people say about this community so that I can continue to support them forever. So I never regret knowing and loving yaoi.

Of course there are different kinds of people in the yaoi community too so please stop hating all of them so much (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
