What are your guy’s opinions on parasocial relationship?
For people confused:
“ Parasocial relationships are one-sided relationships, where one person extends emotional energy, interest and time, and the other party, the persona, is completely unaware of the other’s existence. Parasocial relationships are most common with celebrities, organizations (such as sports teams) or television stars.”
(I would also add youtubers and idols to the lists of personas)
At what point do you think a parasocial relationship become unhealthy?
How do you feel about personas who have their dms open to their fans?
Have you ever had an unhealthy parasocial relationship? What was your wake up call that your obsession was unhealthy?
Oof what? First of all, a parasocial relationship has never been healthy, no one benefits from it and it's not good for the person who engaged in it.
