Philosophy

This is actually my interpretation of something said by Friedrich Nietzsche. Christianity is a lot like alcohol to an alcoholic. Christians lean back on their religion as a comfort, sort of as alcoholics lean back on alcohol in the same way. sure. does god exist and if it does exist why should we believe in them? if we cant understand its power then how would we be sure that it cant harm us?   2 reply

what is sin? like i understand the basics of it, you kill someone? thats a sin. you steal something, thats a sin but humans are very complex creatures. take for example, this situation. theres this person who's in a life-or-death situation, like a murderer or a robber with a gun, and she kills said attacker out of self-defense, is this a sin? will ......   3 reply

i don't really believe in god: my family is very casually religious (as in go to sunday school & church habitually but not super strictly) and for a while now i've been thinking about what i believe in terms of god and etc. honestly, isn't religion just one big coping mechanism for death? lol not trying to offend anyone but so many religions focus......   2 reply
