okay art, great plot > great art, okay plot ????

I think both are important, in a sense. I picture the art as the style to tell a story. It should match the plot, because the images in comics are meant to convey something as well. The taste for the art is very personal, of course, but for me, as long as it portrays the story well and gives me the emotions it is supposed to, I'll go for it. I don......   reply

I tend to decide what to read based on the art first, but I also go for the reviews and the tags (no incest, thank you very mucho). I do that because I am very sensitive when it comes to art, however, I have read Yaoi that had mediocre artwork but I still continued reading it because I was enjoying the plot. I decide based on the characters, because i have high stanards. Art come second, and i appriciate a good plot, so if the plot is not good, i would drop out of boredom.   reply

I'd take great plot because if it is really that great, it will suck you into the story and you stop seeing the art. Although I have trouble applying that rule to challengers. I don't like the plot and characters enough to look past her horrible art.   reply

I'd even rather have horrible art with a great plot than great art but with a horrible plot. In manga, a huge part of the entertainment is the story, characters and the plot itself. I just can't read something that has really bad art like horrible body proportions andor huge anime eyes, I really can't (￣∇￣"). But let's say manga A has really nice art but a stupid andor super cliche plotcharacters and manga B has a not as polished, but still not a pain to the eye, art and really good plot, well I would defenitly like mang......   reply

I think every person has their own liking to art, so it's stupid to go and ask that since many artist have their own unique styles of drawing. It's really just up to the reader if they like it or not. Anywho, I myself prefer great plot over great art (Though, it's really awesome if they have them both). 'Cause honestly.
