I started giving my characters more tragic backstories, when I wanted to give them more depth and prevent them from being 1 dimensional.
I ended up overdoing it way too much with giving characters tragic backstories.
Eventually I realized there are other ways to give my characters more depth, than just giving every single oc a tragic backstory.......
