Language learning hell

[DELETED] [DELETED] 2019-03-17 00:57:01 About learn japanese chinese korean
As a Singaporean, I’ve learnt chinese and english side by side for my entire life since the government wants us to be bilingual by learning english and our mother tongue. It’s hard as balls and I honestly don’t recommend it if you don’t have any obligation to learn it AHHAHAH there are just too many phrases and ways you can write sentences and idioms so my composition writing skills are literally bullshit ;-; imagine japanese but only with kanji and thats chinese T.T When i’m 16 i can use the chinese language to appeal to universities i have to work harder(/TДT)/ I took Japanese as a Third Language subject being the goddamn weeb i am and it’s pretty fucking hard as well SO MANY SENTENCE STRUCTURES WTH MAN (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ but learning kanji is easier for me because they are just chinese characters with slight modification so i’m okay there i guess :D and i can use japanese to replace any of my weaker subjects in school so no complaints there (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ but i think for someone with no chinese background it may be a little harder to learn this language but with lots of hard work you can do this :D)) For korean i took 4 lessons on duo lingo and gave up so not much to say there (⊙…⊙ ) i should take it up again when i’m free

According to my japanese language teacher, it is easier to learn japanese after chinese since you know kanji at that point. Personally I don't find it too hard (altough I started learning it less than a year ago) but it is partly because the sentence structures in our mother tongue are pretty similar to japanese ones, so... I have way more trouble with kanji. Every time I meet one I already learned, I'm like "okay, so I know what this one means but not the pronunciation... oh, I know how to say this one but no idea on the meaning... I know all of the components in the third one but not the overall meaning..." Remembering them all seems impossible.
I once tried learning korean, but it didn't hold the appeal japanese does and my motivation quickly ran out. I most likely will pick it up once again in near future, since it is my lifegoal to learn as many languages as possible, and only learning the fifth one when I'm 22 seems to be quite lacking.
