I wouldn't want to treat them as characters since guilt can take over me and i'll probably have a realization like, "This is my life now. This is reality" Oh shit, this is not a novel anymore. This is real life. People die, people kill, and it can be really brutal.

Personally I really don't think I would treat them as people. Of course I don't want to be mean to them but I think even if I tried to treat them as humans, it wouldn't feel real because in my mind, I know they're from a fantasy novel. I'll probably start missing the real world and come to hate the world I was transported in and everything in it. I mean, just trying to be honest. It just feel like I won't belong and I'm talking with AIs or something and I would feel no one would understand me well. Plus if I get involved with the plot I might just be setting myself up for doom in the unknown future ( ̄ε(# ̄)Σ
Oh oops wrong thread ;-; my bad i meant to reply main question ;-;
You said it's a fantasy novel right? Then it can have dragons and stuff and killing would be a norm in that kind of setting. So i would be horrified, especially when i see it happened infront of me.
