I think nothing much? My first foray into yaoi was ofcourse the more popular/better titles and what I liked about those (compared to shoujo) was how both characters in the relationship actually feel like human beings. Like they have emotions and actually work on solving their issues unlike most shoujo where there's always this "perfect" but ruthles......
