Almost all shoujo stories have literally the same concept i get really bored from them :) They always make the female mc so dumb and annoying i CAN'T stand it. I think people are so drawn in by yaoi because it's so hard to find media representation of male struggles with romance and feeling. In all other media the stereotypical idea of 'manliness' and guys being all tough and above feelings is pushed and presented in every possible way. Most porn are aimed at straight men, even the gay porn out there excludes their female audience. why I love yaoi more than any other type of romance is because the men are more emotional to each other than in the straight relationships. not all yaoi is "hentai"- hentai is just porn, which is not all yaoi (obviously yaoi hentai does exist but that's beside the point) personally, i enjoy yuri, yaoi, and shoujo. I think nothing much? My first foray into yaoi was ofcourse the more popular/better titles and what I liked about those (compared to shoujo) was how both characters in the relationship actually feel like human beings. Like they have emotions and actually work on solving their issues unlike most shoujo where there's always this "perfect" but ruthles......   reply

Yaoi isn’t better from other romances, no romance is above another as long as both parties love each other. They might feel more connection, but their romance is not above others. Besides that, I like Yaoi and Shounen Ai because they just seem to have much more interesting plot lines and better humour, verses other stories. Plus, they have that ......   reply
