I honestly think it's all right. A lot of the comments on here saying it's heteronormative. I don't think it's that exactly. Cuz it all depends on how the other person feels about it. While I do think that it is a little overused, personally I'm fine with both. Someone mentioned above and that calling the maternal donor mom is completely fine and I agree with that. we call the earth 'mother earth' and the two cells that result from mitosis 'daughter cells' despite them not having genders and there's nothing strange about that. o......   reply
