I read it to escape the harshness in mind, really. I was hurt as a kid by a guy, and seeing guys in manhuas get hurt made me feel overpowered in a way. I know, it's weird, but it's true. It started off as a way of me getting rid of pent up anger towards them, and instead it flamed into me "enjoying it" in a good way. And, there's an even bigger pl......   reply

I've developed depression in middle school and all throughout high school, until my senior year. So a good portion of my school life was burdened by self-loathing, depression, and consistent suicidal thoughts. The best way I can describe it is living on the edge of depression by a rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland. You retreat to that edge when ......   reply

I don't know if I'm depressed or just feel terribly sad and regret or things like that. But yeah these past few days I've been feeling so worst that I ever had this kind of thought to end my life. But then again, maybe, I'm still burdened by family or my sins so I cannot do that, lol. I wanna go out but when I went out, my mind wandering everywhere......   1 reply

I am diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Anime or manga can help just as a distraction, like many people here said it. I try not to watch it as much as before because my work/studying is piling up on the side and that just puts more stress on me. But watching Natsume Yuujinchou and Mushishi gives me solace before sleep sometimes. Going to the gy......   reply

I kinda have depression, but its not as bad as others. I just get attacks for like an hour or so somedays, but it leaves. Manga has helped me, mostly shoujo, action, adventure and sometimes romance, but as everyone is saying its just a distraction. It helps me a lot tho, since my attacks are short, but its not the best always. The one that helped m......   1 reply

I suffer mild depression (i.e. I have my episodes every now and again). This week was particularly bad, I got rejected from a University I really wanted to go to, resulting in my family being extremely disappointed with me. I broke down in front of my tutor today, and started crying for no particular reason when she said I was still struggling with......   reply

I got depression i high school. Probably because of stress, pressure from school and so on. My school was very strict and i hated it. It got so bad that every time I went to school i got fysically sick and i needed to go home. Around that time i started to watch anime and read manga. It really helped to put my mind off school and try to feel better......   reply

Hmmm,I don't know if it's not feeling good but most days I just feel flat. Like the air in my tire is completely gone. It's kinda suffocating with air still inside of you. Yes, I read to escape or maybe to heal. Recovery is not really a thing that is attainable for me. I only must survive long enough for life to mean something more than it actuall......   reply

I know it’s harder to feel things when you’re like that, but you just have to keep going. That feeling passes. For me, it can take weeks or months but eventually it’ll go away. I like to distract myself the best I can in my spare time. Fanfiction, anime, books, manga. Usually shoujo or yaoi, occasionally yuri. Any of that cute shit’ll do. ......   reply

Escaping doesn't help.. You have to deal with it. I been there, felt it, the feeling of emptiness. I remember that day, I bought a plane ticket to go backpacking alone. It help me a lot.i don't know if it'll help you. But going on a trip alone might help.   reply
