Your sexuality shouldn't define what you read. I'm a lesbian and I read mostly BL and I don't really read GL (I'm picky). I will read shoujo if it's a good story as well. Refusing to read a type of story just because of your sexuality/gender is dumb. That's different if you feel uncomfortable or don't really like it.   reply

Wtf is this question, are you implying that its strange for straight men to like yaoi and strange for straight women to like yuri? Sexuality does not matter, it just depends on what you like.. Idk this question pisses me off   2 reply

Well I'm pretty gay but I grew up watching so much straight stuff. A good story is a good story.   2 reply

I think romance readers should just read whatever romance story has a dynamic, art style, or plot they like and not worry about whether it’s BL, GL, or SL. My best friend is a guy and he reads BL even tho he has a preference for women (granted he is bisexual tho). I think people should just read whatever they enjoy. There doesn’t have to be a r......   reply

Okay here's your answer: I always say that I'm straight, but in fact I'm more of a bi guy. Never had any experience with men though, so actually not even bi, but more bi-curious? I suck at terminology, so fuck it. Anyway, I read BL because it's entertaining, that's it. But I don't read random stuff, only those stories that pick my interest, and yo......   3 reply

I think because of the story and stimulation it gives us? Like, there are straight romances out there that both girls and boys like. Not because it's straight and it's only for straight people, just because of the stories and characters are likeable and the sorts. Same thing with yaoi/yuri, anyone can like the since if it's a good story (Or if the ......   1 reply

rambling starts: sexuality is fluid, humans like to push labels onto things and categorizing themselves because that's how we have learned to organize our thoughts, by splitting concepts into binaries, but of course the world is not made of absolucies like that. A lot of things that are "common sense" or "logical" to us are just cultural and societ......   1 reply

Well, i'm not a guy but it's mostly perference i think. Like, gay guys may enjoy straight stories or read yuri & lesbian may enjoy reading yaoi instead of yuri, and it's not like straight guys can't enjoy yaoi just like how most yaoi readers are straight females. If we move from yaoi to yuri you'll notice that most yuri readers are unexpectedly fe......   reply

Us straight guys try and stay far the hell away from yaoi...(which I wanted to but I was secretly curious..) Afterwards I still consider myself straight but maybe I’m a bit more open to experiment. (Maybe) So now that I’m a pervert I can say that my very secret hobby of reading BL stuff is because its focus is pretty sexual, which, a horny guy ......   1 reply
