A few words I'd like to share...
It's nothing special, just something I came up with recently and I thought it'd be interesting to share. Any thoughts about it would be appreciated.
I like Elle Woods from Legally Blonde. At a first glance, she's supposed to be this vain and stereotypical girl that would "hate" on the other girls. Excessively feminine and not clever in the slightest. She seems like she'd be the perfect antagonist of any teen Rom-Com with a flat personality and lack of any personal desires other than being with the perfect guy. But at the story progresses, she proves herself as capable to do anything she wants without changing who she is. She's not better nor worse than anyone there and that's what makes her great.
You can do whatever and be whoever you want because even when society judges you, they aren't going to live your life for you. We don't need movies that say "being different is cool", we need movies that say "being you is cool, even when you aren't that different from others because everyone is cool". People should stop trying to differentiate themselves and start searching what make us the same. You already know that you are you and they are them so why make such a big deal of it? We need to stop creating labels and focus on just being ourselves. As long as a dog is able to recognize your smell and your fingerprints are yours only, there's no need to worry about being seen as different. Because only you can be you and that's all that matters.
i hate how everyone, even a good portion of the people who watched the movie, pigeonholed her as just a dumb blondie. i've noticed that people associate being feminine with being stupid- whether its a guy or a girl.
lots of disney movies have those kinds of really feminine antagonists and the MC is a "not like other girls" girl. can we not put oth......
