Opinions on Straight Pride parades

OP here- I had a whole argument with a mf about how there is no point of Straight Pride parades. Its mockery or a fucking parody of LGBTQ+ pride. An excuse for homophobia and for victimizing the oppressors (as can be noticed in previous examples of Straight pride parades and discourse about them). They just want to flaunt their privilege. they're fucking pointless lmao why celebrate/flaunt something that's been considered the "norm" and "natural" ? pride parades are where people can be themselves and feel included and safe and celebrated. there is no need for a straight parade cause they can do that/feel that way wherever the fuck they want.   reply

No. Why should there be a straight pride parade? Straights haven't gone through any oppression whatsoever, whilst people in the LGBTQ+ community have been killed for not being cis or heterosexual.
