I'd actually prefer it if they weren't a fudanshi. Being "queer" myself, (not gonna label I just know I'm in that range) I know that yaoi isn't displayed realistically, I wouldn't want them to think real gay couples are actually like that.

I'm assuming the other party is straight. If he isn't part of the lgbt himself I'm sure he wouldn't really understand how gay relationships work. Yaoi is not realistic, for those who don't know much about the reality of it, they might think it's true, or unconsciously, think of gay men like how they think of the gay men in yaoi.
