Telling your surroundings that you read yaoi/bl

I've been hiding the fact that I read yaoi for yeaarrsss. Only my best friend knows and she doesn't seem to mind.
I don't plan on telling my family or anyone else.

Did any of you guys do this ? How did it go ?
