my first pet

my first pet was my best friend it was a basset hound named Maggie I loved her so much I was at the SPCA looking to get a cat but I kept on going back to one dog named Maggie I begged and pleaded with my parents to let me get her and sure enough in the winter of 7th grade when I was 12 my parents surprised me for Christmas with Maggie the most beautiful looking pure bred basset hound ever she was 7 when I got her. sadly she passed away about 6 years ago from leaking plates in her hind legs she had to be put down when I took her to the vet to get her legs looked at the vet said if we didn't the vet said that she would be in a lot of pain not be able to eat sleep or go to the bathroom according to her xrays she was 13 years old when she passed that is actually pretty old for a basset hound most bassets don't live up to 7 years.
