Okay here we go again.
I’m just know seeing the replies to
http://www.mangago.me/thing/about/385192/ A lot of the replies are “if someone is/said *terrible disgusting thing* I should be able to tell them to k/ll themselves”. No you f/cking shouldn’t.
I get that it feels like sh/t to see something triggering and you want to lash out. The people I’m talking about that you shouldn’t tell to k/ll themselves have triggered me TODAY. But that isn’t an excuse. It’s comparable to someone calling you a slur and you directing a different slur back at them. You’re both saying disgusting heinous sh/t. The other person might be worse but that isn’t a reason to be sh/tty back.
Also I don’t know if anyone has realized but even if you are okay with saying something terrible, that terrible thing you said (like kys) might trigger someone completely uninvolved with your argument..... Which is something you should really care about.
(And also: You aren’t getting anything done. Arguments should be productive or else it’s just two people spouting insults until they both leave and no one changes their mind. You aren’t going to insult someone into being a better person and insulting someone won’t make you feel any less hurt. If anything, all telling some to k/ll themselves accomplishes is; making them even less likely to listen to you or change their behavior. You’re working against you own interests.
And if your whole goal is to just make someone feel sh/tty for making you feel sh/tty, maybe examine why you feel the need to do that.)
