I get asked if I'm from the UK sometimes, even though I've never left the country. When I was 18 months I couldn't hear well for 6 months and had to get surgery, and as a result I had to go to Speech Therapy from pre school to 8th grade. So the way I speak makes me sound like I have an accent.
