I am here to recommend a danmei novel

If you have read any of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's novels (Mo dao zu shi, Tian guan ci fu, etc) or Priest's novels (Sha po lang etc) then I recommend this danmei gem Husky and his white cat shizun by Meatbun!

- Imperfect main lead, his flaws make hm human and real, not entirely a villain nor a hero in the sense of those words

Don't be fooled by the cutesy name, this novel is full of angst (but there are also few precious moments of fluff when the misunderstandings become cleared one by one :333333), but it is a happy ending novel :)

What I loved about this novel was how it explored love, hate, relationships, the plot twists, forgiveness, revenge, good/evil and the path to redemption. The main character's flaws were what made him so human and real to me, he is not charcetrised as some flawless hero, yet he is not an absolute villain either. Rather he had moments in his ife where he did villainous and heroic actions, particularly concerning his shizun (otehr main lead). The author explores the idea of grey moralitya nd the blurred line betwen good and and evil---(if i say anymore ill spoil it Xp)

Anyways-- even tho the main character may seem like an asshole at first, he does get better. At first, I admit that I did drop this novel due to the triggers and shitty main lead, but his character change and path to redemption really was worth it.

Of course, angsty novels and shitty male leads may not be ur cup of tea, but the shitty male lead's path to redemption really explored the ideas of forgiveness and revenge really well, in fact, his flaws and his realisation and attempts to atone for his past mistakes just got me so much I couldnt---

There is a whooping 300 chapters, but in my opinion it was worth it.
When it comes to danmei novels tho I binge read to the last chapter lol.

(also the there are triggers like rape, dubcon, noncon between the two leads, but these themes aren't handled lightly like they are some kind of 'there just because' or 'there because the author just likes it' device)
