alright, honestly I really don’t care as someone who identifies as pan guy if anyone other than gay men read bl. It’s a type of manga genre and I personally read gl and straight love mangas too. So would that consider me a fetishizer for reading a genre that isn’t really directed towards me? No, as long as someone understands that fiction and reality can never cross it really doesn’t matter if they read it. Just remember gay men are people and not objects -
I agree but I understand where the girls of the BL fandom are coming from. If you look into all the mlm’s posts from the question section, most of them just angrily say “don’t read BL if you are girl” possibly with a bunch of insults. I think the problem is that people... don't. There are girls who objectify gay men and men who objectify lesbians and they don't see why that is a problem at all. Though, I do hear experiences of how intense yaoi and yuri fans realize they're gay trans men and transbians through this, but those are few and far between
