I mean, yeah, they *can* be, but is it... y'know, necessary or will these words provide any practical usage? No, not really. Like I could "reclaim" the f-slur or the r-slur, but there's literally not a single instance in which I *need* to say them, so I don't ever say them. And I *could* say them to "reclaim" some sort of "power", but I don't feel ......   reply

My opinion is that they should just be abandoned by the sidewalk. I think the reclaim thing is a waste of time. By the way the concept of “we reclaim some words and only the concerned can use it” is only prevalent in the US and several others English speaking country. Yea definitely as long as they are being reclaimed by those they were used against. Black people have reclaimed the n word. Ive seen this one tik toker reclaim the word bimbo and her posts are always positive. Ive also heard someone say slut is used as a compliment in her house.   reply

I watched this thing on Netflix about slur words and apparently saying Damn was like a really big offense now it’s like super casual. So I think reclaiming words is possible just needs time.   reply

Thanks for the answers, they are very interesting. but idk. there are some words that i'd prefer to have abandoned rather than reclaimed. some words make me feel rage even if used nicely lol but yeah people should have free choice to reclaim words to empower themselves.   reply
