My experience
In Armenia (a very small country near Turkey) almost all schools teach at least one language aside from the national language armenian, that other language is russian. The majority of the country knows russian and many know english very well.I personally went to an English bias school so my second language is english, then russian, but both were taught to me by amazing teachers( unfortunately that's not always the case). However we also have a couple of schools that predominantly teach german and french, so i'm grateful because honestly all three languages are very useful.(Now i'm also learning italian, which is so much easier thanks to having learnt english early on.) :)
