Is it so wrong to be single and happy?
First of all, I'm sorry if this post looks like I'm venting my disappointment and anger.
I'm 26 this year. In my country people my age usually already got married (some of my friends even children) and sometimes it disturb me. Why? Because sometimes when I go out to meet older people or other friends (who already got married) they would annoyingly ask about why I'm still single. Well, I usually just answer them with a forced smile and said "I'm still enjoying my life". And I really am enjoying my life! I learn so much about my life, what I don't like, what I really like, what kind of person I'm really looking for... etc.
I love my job. I resigned from a big company just to work by myself as a freelancer designer and I do really well and love my job. But people just don't understand.
"Don't work so hard, you'll get older and you'll be too old to get married."
"You're a workaholic, maybe that's why you're still single."
"Maybe you should go out, find someone nice."
Well, I can get anyone in a minute (boy or girl), but again, is that really necessary? I want to get married, but not now. :(
There isn't anything wrong with being single and being happy, make sure to enjoy your life to the fullest!
However... You said you do want to get married, I'm assuming this means you also want to have children? In this case you need to start thinking of your biological clock a bit. (I'm assuming you're a girl, you can ignore most of what I said ot......
