Does he like me ? I hope not

So basically I entered high school in November, so each class has about 13 student due to the pandemic
Anyway everyone there was so nice and it was great there "except for the fact that my ex is in that class"
There was this dude whom i don't really know *he came from a different middle school* so this dude likes anime so much and my friend would talk to him about AOT all the time and i'll be there listening
If i'm not mistaking i talked to him only once asking about if he watched Jujutsu kaisen, that's ALL !
We didn't have school for the past week *winter holidays* and i was sitting in peace reading manga and minding my own business when he texted me on Instagram *never talked before but we follow each other* saying that he fell in love with me and some other shit that i couldn't see because i didn't click on the notification i was just reading from the top
I was so surprised to even move for about a minute but then i thought maybe he's just joking around so I clicked the notification and the messages disappeared
I made sure to restart my phone and log out of my account and everything but no, i still couldn't find the messages
I thought it was just a joke since he deleted it so i sent him a message asking if he sent me anything *i didn't tell him i saw that it was a confession* and he acted so surprised and told me he never did so and it might be me hallucinating *i'm not fucking stupid*
So i just went with the flow and kept texting him about anime and school but the he repeated it, there were a lot of confession messages but when i clicked on the notification there was nothing but a normal message ! I was a little scared because i don't really know him so i can't think of why he did it and i didn't want to ask because i wanted to see what will happen
School will start again in sunday, give me your opinion
Do you think he likes me ?
I don't really think i'll ever like him or something so what should i do ?
Ignore it or ask him what the hell is he doing ?
