I know it’s dumb and I’m not trying to be the gatekeeper here, but I enjoy liking unpopular things. They make me feel comfortable, like I have a space for me in the world. When some of these things get popular it’s not that I start disliking them, but they lose their enchant to me. I won’t tell ppl “oh don’t listen to that” or stop showing them things, but sometimes I just want That Thing to be a me thing. I want to feel special some way.
I don’t think that’s being an asshole, that’s just being human. It’s hard for anyone when you feel like your individuality is being ripped away from you.

omg this is so me, whenever i see heteros taking over queer songs which is made by gay artists and for gay people i get so mad, idk i may just be a asshole but its my safe place, its a safe place for gay people there are just so much other songs and movies for straight people literally everything is for them reply
