Hey hey heeey! Well I just wanna know why do some non japanese animeyoutubers pronounce YAOI as Yahwee (Ahemlikethenameofthatassholefromamanhwa)? Just why? Well this is really just bugging me. Because they are(live?) in japan? And they also have friends who speak japanese?? And they really love anime and manga that they have strong opinion about other people's taste. SO JUST WHY??? LIKE IS IT A THING TO CALL YAOI YAHWEE???

It's originally pronounced yowie. But Americans can't pronounce Japanese words to save their lives. The non-japanese anime YouTubers that pronounce it yowie(or Yahwee) pronounce it correctly. 2 reply

That's actually pretty close though... The A *does* make an ah sound, and the I *does* make an ee sound. When you say the word quickly, the A sound and the O sound tend to blend together. And the W sound between the O sound and the I sound happens because people are changing the airflow with both their lips *and* their tongue instead of just their ...... reply
