Am i too young for yaoi?

It's never too early to get a head start in the fun of "reading" *wink wink*

I didn't get the memo that yaoi existed from elementary- junior year of high school. Most of my manga consisted of Naruto, Attack on Titan, or just shojo in high school. When I became a senior in high school, I was aware and some of my friends showed interest but never exploited it. I didn't even pair up guys cause back then, cause the idea was gross to me at the time and the situation never called for it. Now after I left high school? I do it to every pairing in anime/manga that have a great relationship and I'm an avid yaoi reader. xD
If you're a 12 yr old or beginner to that thing and is unsure about your likes, compare it to learning how to do something for the first time. When you start off, you might be squeamish and it'll get hard for you to read, so you'll probably only prefer the easy stuff like shonen ai, but once you get the hang of it, you can work your way up to a higher level (like yaoi), or even kinks (like bdsm or smut). It's all about learning through experience.
And about worrying what other people think or saying what you like, allow me to quote something a yaoi character once said: "some truths are better off kept as a secret". "If you don't tell anyone, you're free do do what you like, when you like" and there's less chance it'll hurt you. What do I mean by this? In this case, it's better to keep the secret that fact that you like yaoi. People around you mught judge you and tell other people, and you might have a hard time and there is a good chance more and more people will know through gossip. I'm probably being harsh and overreactive saying this, but I really want you to be protected and not have to suffer through grade school,middle school, high school by having people tease or call you gross. If your friends reveal they like it, then I guess it's fine revealing you like it too. Just conceal it from other people outside your circle.
