you can use both in the same sentence. ex. "can you tell him that their food is done." you can also switch it with each sentence, ex. "their hair is so pretty. can you ask her what shampoo she uses?" just be sure to use both pronouns at some point. we go by both for a reason and it can be very frustrating when people only use one.   reply

usually it means you can just alternate between them. like for someone with he/they, u cant talk about them like "their name is *. theyre really into etc etc, and etc. also, hes really good at doing *!" or smth like that, it just means that person is okay with both, and so u can use both of them however   reply

That means you can choose one out of the two to refer to them. Generally, I use the first one the person indicates because that's their preferred one.   reply
