Sadistic vs Evil

Is there a line for how sadistic someone can be? Like if they enjoy murdering and torturing animals. Does that still count as sadistic or is that just evil. Cuz technically a Sadist person enjoys inflicting pain. Perhaps there is no limit. I just wonder why some people are considered sadistic while others are considered evil when all and all they both enjoy the pain and suffering of others. Just shower thoughts.
