so i've only joined(?) the manga community and i noticed that alot of readers use words that i don't know. here are the words idk:

fujoshi (is this what they call manga readers?)
seme (sorry bout this but when i read this i think of semen)
uke (ukelele?)
fudanshi (idk)

i feel like if i google it ill be traumatized haha lol

In BL studies, "seme" comes from the word semeru (攻める) and "uke" comes from ukeru (請ける). Seme is the "man" and uke is the "woman" in a heterosexual relationship. Fujoshi is a female who are fans of homoerotic fiction. ^^(๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ reply

Fujoshi is used for women that read BL (boy's love) and fudanshi is used for males that read BL. Seme is basically the top and uke is the bottom in BL'svdghd reply

fujoshi - usually refers to a female who goes crazy over male characters and ships them together with other male characters fudanshi - the same but a male reader who ships male characters (while some people refer to themselves as fujoshi/fudanshi it usually is seen as derogatory as it suggests an obsession and fetishisation of malexmale relations...... reply
