I think I am being more tolerant to LGBT couples as a straight, even tho I never find one in real life... And after I read the whole mangas I think that we can love everyone without boundaries and I totally love how sweet the couples are Thanks to my friend who introduces me to yaoi and shonen ai in middle school! :3   1 reply

It was introduced to me at a really pivotal time in my life and helped come to terms with my own sexuality. At first I found the porny stuff really overwhelming and a little scary, but reading the more story driven/romantic/sweet stories made me think that it wasn't so scary after all, and eventually that I also wanted a love like that. Yaoi made me realise made me chalenge the way moral restrains us. For instance, i can't stand shotacon, i don't like rape as part of any storytelling and i really wish it would never be presented as "casual" or used like an escalator to intimacy and even less love. Same for me as well prett much, yaoi has opened my eyes to more thorough problems in this world, like people being accepted for being part of the LGBT community. I think without yaoi, I'd probably still be ignorant of homosexuals and probably not think as highly of them as I do now.
