Replace self-deprecating jokes with ironically self-aggrandizing jokes
Like every time you trip and fall, instead of saying "I'm just a disaster human," say "I'm the epitome of grace and beauty."
Or like, when you draw a picture you're not 100% happy with, instead of saying "my art is trash," say something like "you know, I think it's time for we replace the Mona Lisa."
When you do that you get to make a joke, but you're ALSO practicing on building yourself up, you know?
And eventually it becomes a reflex and you get so used to it that you can say nice stuff about yourself even when you AREN'T joking.

ive heard this kind of advice before, but im just so used to constantly insulting myself while being conscious of other people that i never got around to practicing it. one time i tried, but the reaction from those around me was like, "..theyre joking, right?" and it just hurt my self esteem even more.. but ig its time to try again
woah I never really thought of that.... I should do that-
Thank you for the advice!
