is it normal to at least pull your hair out once in your life?
so i've been kinda wondering if its normal to do this (i don't do this regularly but i did it a few years ago). i was 9 or 10 when i pulled my hair out till i got a baldspot, i never did it again which i'm really glad about. my parents got really worried thinking my hair was falling out and i lied saying i cut it because i was scared of what they would think. is it normal to do this once in your life at the age of 10? i'm just kinda worried.
Well no? I don’t think most normal people pull out chunks of their hair, especially if you’re 10. As a kid I would occasionally pull out a strand of hair, but I have a lot of fall out so I don’t know if it would even count.
But was there something triggering you or stressing you out? It’s not normal for someone to just pull out their hair...... reply
you remember shit you did at ten....wow cant relate my childhood is locked up safe and sound in the area of my brain that holds my repressed memories reply
Def no. Because it is considered as a mental disorder called Trichotillomania (TTM) or compulsive hair pulling. I know a friend with this condition and her head had multiple baldspots until she got treatment for it. But if the last time you pulled your hair (or had urges to do it) was years ago, then maybe it isn't something you must worry about. reply
