What got you into yaoi?

My friend Ariel introduced me to kiss him not me and then another friend to yuuri!!! On ice then YouTube started giving me ads for at the end of the road and a guy like you I looked through tumblr for Yuri on ice fan art went down a rabbit hole and ended up in a yaoi blog and then mochi no katsudon happened and next thing I knew I was here reading......   reply

For me.. Well, I had just found out about Fanfics and was kinda addicted to it when I came across a boyxboy Fanfic of some anime (I think it was Beyblade metal saga).. Anyways, I wouldn't call that yaoi cause it didn't contain more than kissing and stuff.. I ventured deeper into the yaoi world when I started reading SNS (Sasunarusasu) fics.. :p   1 reply

For me it was simply that I already was an OTAKU(a real big one) to begin with, and I loved reading shoujo manga. At the time I worked part-time at a book store, and I kinda already read all the mangas they had, and there was this one section of manga I never knew it was there because only a few customers would rent it. I think I got into yaoi the first time that I saw it. I was watching a YouTuber named AnimaGaming and I saw she had playthroughs of games I'd never seen other youtubers play before. I kind of ran out of interesting shoujo mangas, and fell upon a yaoi one. The plot line was way better than most shoujo mangas. (For some reason, I like yaoi story plot better than shoujo ones. '^' It's not as painfully full of sweetness and romance.)   1 reply

Influence tbh hahahha omfg I used to have friends who read yaoi since the age of 12. They were basically telling me every single time they read a new one even though I don't read yaoi.
