Omegaverse and Heteronormativity.

So making Heteronormative comments these days are considered offensive in some cases. Like when calling the caring-guy of the group "mom", it is considered reducing. So I ask the the Yaoi fanbase who have read "Omegaverse" about their thoughts on this, where Omegas are mothers.
How would you describe the omegaverse without being Heteronormative.
